Household Wizard › A Mint alternative that imports your old Mint file
A Mint alternative that imports your old Mint file
Mint shut down in March 2024. If you saved your transactions as a CSV before then, Household Wizard can still import it. It is a one-time purchase for Mac and iPad with budgets, debt payoff, net worth and a full ledger.

Which one fits you?
Look elsewhere if you…
- want transactions to download from your bank automatically (Household Wizard has no bank connection)
- want a free app
- use Windows or Android
Household Wizard fits if you…
- want to buy once and own the app
- want your data in your own iCloud with no third-party servers
- want a real ledger with splits, budgets and reconciliation
- want to share a ledger with a partner on Mac and iPad
How to move your data
- Find the Transactions.csv you exported from Mint before it closed. Mint can no longer export new files.
- In Household Wizard choose Finances › Import CSV… and pick Mint (old export file) under Import From.
- Mint files list every account in one file, so choose Multiple Accounts and Household Wizard will create the accounts for you. Amounts are read using Mint's Transaction Type column.
- Check the preview and each account's balance afterward, and add an opening-balance transaction to any account that needs one, dated before its first imported row.
Coming from Monarch Money or Copilot Money instead? They export differently, and Household Wizard has an option for each. See the import guide.
The full details, including what each import option does, are in the import guide.
